I used to associate the checked pattern with grandfathers, exemplary students or golfers and the call of a “petty-minded” one. A word with a negative touch. Then who wants to be described as “petty-minded”?
As soon as I wrote this sentence in my post, the question circles in my head: “When will someone call petty? Am I petty-minded?” A few years ago, I would have responded with a clear NO. Today I feel very well at the thought of doing and living certain things in a classic way and sometimes to be a bit fussy. Be it, when it comes to family, safety or the home.
Am I getting old?
I think it has to do with age as well. You automatically think more about your future. Where do I want to go, what else do I want to do and achieve? Despite this change, however, I am a person in which the idea of freedom is very important and also to have it a bit messy. Professionally, financially and personally, it is important for me to be independent. I want to have the opportunity to shape my life according to my ideas. Thanks to the blogging (at the moment I’m not doing it full-time, but I’m working on it 🙂 ) I can be my own boss, arrange my working hours myself and report on the story behind which I am fully committed. Financially, I always want to be able to stand on my own two feet and pursue my personal goals and desires with passion.
The word “Kleinkariert” also has a positive meaning, referring to my outfit. A pattern that comes back every autumn season. This time the check pattern in all-over look.
