Cork instead of leather

Many people associate cork with a cork stopper on a wine bottle, or with interior decoration. But cork is so much more and a great alternative to leather.

It is a sustainable material that is taken from the bark of the cork oak. This means no tree or plant has to be felled. It is waterproof and does not absorb water as leather does. The material is odorless, carefree, sturdy, soft, and extremely light. There are products like household items, bags, purses, umbrellas, or items of clothing. It offers sustainable and useful advantages, which is why the demand for cork instead of leather is growing steadily.

The company Korkeria.ch works with cork and sells a large range of products in Switzerland. Part of the family business lives in Portugal, where the material comes from and the products are made. The area of cork oaks in Portugal is around 736,000 hectares, which also makes the country one of the largest producers in the world.

My product is a very chic and extremely light bag. The carrying comfort is not comparable with other bags I have. In addition, the natural material and the color of the bag fits to every clothing piece and every outfit I have.
